Two More Defense gone
Today both Craig Rivet and Matt Carle were traded. In return the sharks picked up Dan Boyle from Tampa Bay for Carle and Ty Wishart. The sharks also got Brad Lukowich for a first round draft pick in 2009 and a fourth round draft pick in 2010. Rivet was traded to Buffalo for two second round draft picks.
Sharks pick up new defenseman
The sharks pick up free agent Rob Blake for $5 million in the 08-09 season. Blake will fill in the empty space in the back line when Campbell left.
Blackhawks take Campbell
The Blackhawks sign on Brian Campbell for 8 year deal for $7.14 million. The Sharks would have kept him but they don’t have that much money to spend.
Sharks Hire New Coach
The Sharks have hired a new coach. His name is Todd McLellan and he was the assistant coach for the Red Wings.
